I was first asked to be a Small Business Saturday UK Champion in 2016.

What an honour I thought, even though at the time I wasn’t really sure what it entailed.

I was asked, because of how involved I was in the campaign the previous year. Recruit Packs was named as one of the Small Biz 100, a brilliant achievement so soon after we launched the brand.

Being involved with the Small Biz Sat UK is a great experience. It’s great exposure for your company, plus you meet fantastic, pro-active and very different, business owners.

The first time I was champion, I was brilliant. I really engaged in social media conversations, attended launch events and stared in my very first music video!

Last Year Was Shit

The tour bus came to my hometown.

I really felt like I’d let the town and the campaign down.

It was such a fantastic opportunity, having the bus tour come to Denbigh, but it was poorly attended.

It was disappointing and it took the wind out of my sails.

This meant that last year I withdrew. I was so touched that the team asked me to be champion again, but I didn’t live up to the role.

Small Business Saturday UK 2018

This year is going to be different though.

This year I’m going to be the champion of champions… But I’m not going to be encouraging customers to shop locally.

That’s futile!

This year, I’m going to be showing small business owners how they can use systems and technology to put their family first.

Free up time, make them more efficient and more productive.

It’s going to be amazing!
